Ivan Seidenberg is chairman and chief executive officer of NYNEX, a position
he assumed in April 1995.
Mr. Seidenberg, who began his communications career more than 28 years ago, was named NYNEX president and chief executive officer in January 1995. Prior to that he held the position of president and chief operating officer and has been a NYNEX Vice Chairman and member of the NYNEX Board of Directors since 1991. He has held various positions within the corporation, including vice chairman - Telecommunications Group; president of NYNEX Worldwide Information and Cellular Services Group; and vice president of Government Affairs in Washington, D.C. Mr. Seidenberg is a member of the board of directors of Allied Signal Inc., Melville Corporation, Pace University, The Museum of Television and Radio, The New York Hall of Science, and Viacom Inc. He is also a member of the Dean's Council at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. He is a former chairman of the United States Telecommunications Association. Mr. Seidenberg earned a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics from City University of New York and a master's degree in business administration and marketing at Pace University. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in the Republic of South Vietnam from 1967 to 1968.
