Senter, executive vice president and chief financial officer, has decided to
leave the corporation June 1 to pursue other business interests.
"Al's professional eye for creating shareowner value has served NYNEX well
during a time of profound change in our business," said Ivan Seidenberg, NYNEX
chairman and chief executive officer. "He's done much to strengthen our
financial management and our financial fundamentals, including capital
structure and operating margin, and helped us produce six consecutive quarters
of dynamic growth.
"We wish him the best and know he will do well in whatever opportunities he
chooses to pursue."
Frederic V. Salerno, NYNEX vice chairman - Finance and Business Development,
will discharge the responsibilities of the chief financial officer for NYNEX
until the close of the merger with Bell Atlantic, when he will become chief
financial officer of the new company.
