August 23, 1995 NYNEX CONTACT: Media Relations, (212) 395-0500 CAA Names New Management Group LOS ANGELES -- Creative Artists Agency today announced the formation of a new management structure to lead the company, effective Oct. 1, 1995. A committee of nine managing directors, including CAA agents Lee Gabler, Kevin Huvane, Bryan Lourd, Richard Lovett, Jay Moloney, Rick Nicita, David O'Connor, Jack Rapke and Tom Ross, has been formed. The committee today named Gabler, Nicita and Rapke co-chairmen of CAA and Lovett president of the new organization. The transition to a new management structure at the Los Angeles- based literary and talent agency comes just ten days after CAA's founding chairman, Michael Ovitz, accepted the position of president of the The Walt Disney Co., also effective Oct. 1, 1995. Ron Meyer, CAA's founding president, left the company on Aug. 1, 1995, to become president of MCA Inc. The transition team at the agency included all the new managing directors and CAA's vice president for legal and business affairs, Ray Kurtzman; the agency's chief financial officer, Bob Goldman; and Sandy Climan, co-head of CAA's corporate advisory group. Gabler and Ross remain head of, respectively, CAA's television and music departments. Huvane and Lourd were named heads of the agency's talent department. CAA agents assuming or continuing in management positions include: Jane Sindell, head of the motion picture literary group; Sonya Rosenfeld, head of the television literary group; Bruce Vinokour, who leads the agency's activities in television mini-series and movies-of-the-week; and Steven Lafferty, head of television business affairs. Kurtzman, Goldman and Climan will continue in their current positions at the company. "CAA has assembled a great management group," said Ovitz.
