August 17, 1995 NYNEX CONTACT: Media Relations, (212) 395-0500 Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile's Bartlett Named President of New England and Upstate New York Region PHILADELPHIA -- Bell Atlantic announced today that Thomas A. Bartlett is appointed president of the New England and Upstate New York region for Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile. He succeeds Benjamin L. Scott who last week was named president and CEO of PCS PrimeCo. Bartlett, who has extensive operations and management experience in the U.S. wireless industry, will be responsible for the corporation's global wireless interests which operate in high-growth markets in North America, Latin America and Europe. "We are eager to have Tom join Bell Atlantic's international wireless arena," said Lawrence T. Babbio, Jr., vice chairman of Bell Atlantic Corporation. "Tom's significant background and achievements in the wireless industry and in international business will greatly enhance our international wireless operations." Bartlett has held a number of senior positions at Bell Atlantic Mobile, including regional vice president-Philadelphia/New Jersey, where he was responsible for sales, marketing, engineering, administration, finance and network systems expansion in Philadelphia, New Jersey and Delaware. Previously, he was vice president-business development at Bell Atlantic Mobile. Among his achievements, he headed the steering committee that oversaw the acquisition of Metro Mobile CTS, one of the largest cellular carriers at that time. Bartlett also has held CFO positions in other Bell Atlantic businesses, including one based in London with the European operations of Bell Atlantic Business System Services, the largest independent computer service organization in the world and a subsidiary of Bell Atlantic. Bartlett began his career in 1981 with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells, now Deloitte Touche, in New York. A successor to Mr. Bartlett will be named in the near future.
