NYNEX Supports U.S. Luge Team

NEW YORK -- The NYNEX U.S. National Luge Team continues to rack up impressive medal numbers, earning 37 in the 1995-96 season, bringing the total number of medals won during the past two seasons to 80.

NYNEX became founding sponsor of USA Luge in 1985 and since then the NYNEX-USA Luge Team has become a world power, winning more than 150 medals in international competitions.

Luge fans should pencil in March 2, 1997 on their calendars. That's when the World Cup Finale is scheduled to be held right in NYNEX's own backyard in Lake Placid, NY -- headquarters for Team NYNEX. Also, when the NYNEX-USA Luge Team steps into place at the Olympic Luge track in Nagano, Japan for the 1998 Winter Games, it won't be the first time. Nagano, which is located two hours northwest of Tokyo in the Japanese Alps, will be the site of a World Cup event February 15-16, 1997 giving Americans an early look at the track that opened just this year.
