New Caller ID Service
in New York City

NEW YORK -- NYNEX just introduced five new versatile residence and small business products to enhance its PhoneSmart® Services product line. The new services will help you manage incoming calls through a unique name and phone number identification system.

The additions are available in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, the Bronx and northern Manhattan (above 59th Street). Service to other New York State regions will be implemented in stages and made available during 1996.

The first new product, Caller ID With Name, is similar to NYNEX's Caller ID. However, the advantage to the newer version is the name and number associated with an incoming call can easily be identified, eliminating your need to say, "Who could that be?" from seeing the displayed number only.

Call Manager and Call Manager With Name are two convenient products synonymous with successful time management. Both services allow you to decide how you want to handle your calls via a variety of choices like forwarding an incoming call to Call Answering, inviting a new caller to join in your current conversation, or routing a call to pre-designed "please hold" and "please call back" messages.

Lastly, Call Waiting ID and Call Waiting ID With Name both allow you to receive identifying information about an incoming caller while you are on the other line. The beep you hear that signals a new call will accompany either a displayed name and/or a matching incoming phone number. This useful screening process lets you choose whether you want to interrupt one call to receive another.
